Definitions

Transcription - A simple text document that contains a word-for-word content from video / audio

Closed Captions - appears onscreen simultaneously with the audio and video, and follows the same timing. The language of the text is in the same language as the audio. It exists within the video player, and generally speaking, can’t be referenced outside of the video.

Subtitles - A translated version of closed captions. The language of the text is NOT in the same language as the audio. You could be listening to English audio but reading French subtitles.
