4. Post-Service: Publishing to Web

After the service is over, follow this steps:

1. Edit the video and upload to S3

    1. Stop recording in Blackmagic Media Express (click capture button again)
    2. Locate the file in "Movies" in the sidebar, hit "enter" and add "-full" to the name
    3. Double-click the file to open in QuickTime
    4. Find where the speaker begins sermon (ex: "I'd like to preach a message entitled...") and click the "i" key to set an in-point
    5. Find the end of the sermon (usually after prayer) and click the "o" key on the keyboard
    6. Hit "Command ⌘ + S" to save the file, but remove the "-full" from the name
    7. You should now have two clips, one with "YEAR-MONTH-DAY-Full" and one with "YEAR-MONTH-DAY" ex. 2019-02-

2. Convert video to MP3

  1. Open iTunes and select the movies tab from the menu
  2. Drag the clip WITHOUT the "-full" into the window
  3. Click on the music tab from the menu
  4. Find the newly added video with today's date and select it
    1. Click on "File" from the menubar "Convert to"
  5. Hold down the "alt" key --> "Convert to MP3"
  6. Make sure there is now an audio version of the video in the "Movies" tab in Finder

3. Upload to our backup server on Amazon S3

  1. Open the Transmit app from the dock
  2. Double click until you get to "cdn.northlandschurch.com" then double-click on "Sermon content"
  3. Select the "YEAR-MONTH-DATE-Full" mp4, the "YEAR-MONTH-DATE" mp4, and the "YEAR-MONTH-DATE" mp3 and drag them into the Transmit window
  4. Make sure set the permissions to WORLD in Transmit

4. Trim YouTube Streamed File

    1. Go the YouTube dashboard, click on "Videos"
    2. Find the event from today (if you tested the stream earlier this morning, you can delete it but make sure you delete the right one, it should be a minute or two long), click "edit"
    3. Click the "enhancements" tab, then "save as new video"
    4. Click the "trim" button and edit the video to start and end with the sermon (like we did with the recorded copy)
    5. Go back to the "info and settings" tab and change the name to the sermon title if it isn't already
    6. Go back to the "Videos" tab in the main sidebar, find the duplicated video
    7. Change the title to "MONTH DAY, YEAR (Full Service)" (ex: "July 10th, 2016 (Full Service)") and set the Privacy to PRIVATE
